How to assign roles

Roles can be assigned on a user level to anyone within your organization from the People interface within the Organization module, and generally govern what a user is able to do on behalf of the organization. For more details, see the "Managing roles" section of our article on organization management.

Overview of roles

There are 6 roles available within the platform:

Organization admin

Target user type

Power users / Product champions

Permission overview

Edit essential organization settings and appoint other admins. Complete viewing and collaboration rights.

Product manager

Target user type

Product data experts

Permission overview

Edit data and files of components, materials, products and systems. Complete viewing and collaboration rights.

Campaign admin

Target user type

Marketing specialists

Permission overview

Launch marketing activities such as email campaigns, product promotions and collection promotions. Complete viewing and collaboration rights.

Analyst

Target user type

Business analysts, anyone with interest in data generated from the platform, or collaborators on assets like marketing activities.

Permission overview

Complete viewing and collaboration rights.

Business Messenger

Target user type

Sales personnel who would like to receive questions and requests from users on bimobject.com downloading their files.

Permission overview

No viewing or collaboration rights - only makes the user show up as a contact person on bimobject.com in the context of the brand.

Prodikt access

Target user type

This access is provided by default to anyone added to your organization.

Permission overview

Enables the users to access our project tool "Prodikt". Anyone within the organization can create projects, and any permission management in relation to the project is handled within its scope rather than from the central role management.

Tip: users can have multiple roles, which will combine the permissions sets of each role and provide them all to the user.
