Accessing Insights

Insights can be accessed on any platform subscription by navigating to the Business Application and clicking on "Insights" from the left-hand navigation menu.

Page structure

Insights follows a consistent structure to help you navigate and locate what you're looking as easily as possible. The image below outlines this structure, and you can find more details in the next section:

Insights follows the same structure no matter what tab you're on

Navigation tabs

The tabs in the top-left of the page can be interacted with to switch views within Insights. You can see each tab as a separate use case. To exemplify, the "Overview" tab may tell you how many product downloads you've received on aggregate, whereas the "Products" tab can tell you how many downloads each individual product received.

Filters

In the top-right corner you can find a button to expand or minimize a filter pane. Making selections from filters will cause the data in all visualizations on the currently selected tab to change once applied.

Once you have selected filters you need to click "Apply" for data to update across the page

Active selections transfer across pages, meaning if you've selected 3 countries on the Overview tab and navigate to the Products tab, these 3 countries will remain selected.

You may see that some filter drop-downs are greyed out but still selectable within the filter pane. This happens because the tab you're currently on doesn't have any data that can be affected by selections in that particular filter. For example, on the Overview page there are no visualizations that will be affected by the Products or File types filters, so these two are greyed out. However, if you make selections from them and apply, they will of course be active if you navigate to the Products tab and vice versa.

Filters are greyed out if there are no visualizations that can be affected by the filter, but you can still make selections from it that carry over to other tabs

KPIs

The first layer of data shown on the page consists of three KPIs that are customized to fit each tab's theme. Their intention is to provide you with a quick snapshot of the most important metrics on the tab.

Overview tab KPIs

  • Product downloads - the number of times your products have been downloaded

  • Product page views - the number of times your product pages have been visited by logged in users

  • My rating - the average rating of your products

Products tab KPIs

  • Product download ratio - the % of your brand's published products that have been downloaded at least once

  • Downloads per product - the average number of downloads generated by your products

  • Page visits per product - the average number of page visits generated by your products

Visualizations

Below the KPIs are a set of visualizations that are customized to fit each tab's theme. Their intention is to provide you with more context to better understand where all those downloads and page visits are coming from. Just like the KPIs, the visualizations are affected by any filter selections you've made.

As an example, the product downloads per country visualization above shows a breakdown of downloads across the world and can help you understand:

  • Where your products are most in demand

  • If there are any additional countries you might want to include in your license and market towards

  • If there are any markets that are performing worse than you expected

Exporting data

We know that every organization has their own data needs, so while we have chosen to display data in a certain way, we understand you might want to extract it and transform it to cater to your own use cases.

To export data within Insights, you can simply right-click on any visualization and select whether you want the data in .csv or .xlsx format. The data will be downloaded right away and can be found within your downloads directory.

Note that the data within the file will reflect the exact data shown at the moment of your export, including any applied filters.
