BIMobject® Add-on for Archicad help page

BIMobject® Add-on for Archicad enables users to download BIMobjects and assign manufacturer-provided data (objects, parameters, properties and parameters) directly from the BIMobject® portal to Archicad projects in an easy way.

Installation

The BIMobject® Add-on is available for Archicad versions 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25.

The installation process is straightforward:

Double click on the BIMobject.exe icon:

Note that you must close all running Archicads to go forward.

On this screen installer displays installed Archicad versions, and the versions the BIMobject® Add-on to install for must be selected. Any older or unchecked versions of the add-on will be removed.

Usage

When Archicad is started, BIMobject Add-on can be started by clicking Windows/Palettes/BIMobject®, displaying the BIMobject® Palette (if not started already).

Buttons on the BIMobject Palette:

  • Download BIMobjects: Opens a browser window loading BIMobject® site, where you can select files (objects, pictures, etc.) for downloading. Files will be downloaded into the folder specified under "User settings" (that will be already loaded into Libraries in Project in Library Manager).

  • Product info: Opens a browser window loading Product page for the selected object. Only one object can be selected for this.

  • Check for updates”: Checks/updates BIMobject-related parameters for selected objects. Only objects downloaded from BIMobject® will be considered and checked/updated.

  • Load properties: Browse among our products and download product specific parameters. By clicking the photo of the product these parameters will be assigned as classification and property values to the selected Archicad elements. By clicking the download icon object will be downloaded the ordinary way, instead. Note that any kind of element (that can be categorised and properties can be set for) can be selected, including walls, roofs, slabs, lamps, etc.

  • Load properties, based on selected elements' categories: Same as “Load properties”, but the list of available products will be filtered based on the selected elements (ie. if only walls are selected, only wall products will be displayed.)

  • Get properties for BIMobjects: Downloads and assigns the product specific parameters as classification and property values to the objects downloaded from BIMobject®.
