Structure your products based on their components

Updated over a month ago

A component represents the material content of a product, specifying which materials it is made of. The same component can be used across multiple products as long as the material composition remains unchanged. However, tracking material transparency can be complex for property owners, requiring structured and up-to-date data.

Material transparency varies by product. Some provide a detailed breakdown, including CAS/EC numbers, which are automatically screened in Prodikt for compliance against the REACH and SIN lists. Choosing the right material type when adding a material to a component is another way to screen for compliance, applicable to some material types in Prodikt. In cases where required, a REACH certificate can serve as a substitute for declared material content.

To simplify the process, Prodikt ensures a seamless digital data flow. This enables property owners to maintain structured, version-controlled product information that is always accessible.
